Here you can watch a video that shows our bikes as they are packed.
Our goals for packing are to:
- Minimize damage to the bike during transit from the factory to the customer.
- Minimize the amount of setup time required by the customer.
- Reduce the amount of material used.
- Use materials that can be recycled or have other useful purposes.
We do not use any Styrofoam. We do use a type of foam that can be recycled or reused in packaging other items. Our bikes are robustly packed because we typically ship them directly to the customer in single units. This type of shipping is more stressful than LTL (pallet freight) shipping, which is typically used on multiple-unit shipments. Damaged bikes need to be returned and parts must be repaired, which is very expensive. We are continuously working to optimize the packaging to achieve our goals with minimum waste.
