Your battery requires special care in cold weather to perform as expected and to get the most out of your battery's overall life.
Here are some basic tips for Battery Winter Care:
- Keep your battery at a comfortable room temperature as much as possible. This can be done by keeping your battery inside on a safe, dry place ( away from heat sources )
-Only charge at room temperature. Never charge at or below 0C ( 32F ). If you just arrived from a ride, wait until the pack is inside for a couple of hours and then proceed to charge it. This will allow a healthier recharge for your pack.
-Charge frequently. As opposed to charging every month or 2 weeks, we recommend to charge after or before each ride following the mentioned tips.
-Store at around 80% charge. Is recommended that the pack is not at a full charge to store it. This can be done easily by charging it until the LCD shows around 80-90% charge. If charging away from the bike you can charge until the LED on the charger turns green and then run it on your bike for a couple minutes using the throttle.
-Avoid humidity by keeping your bike and battery on a dry, covered place and also by keeping the connections inspected and tight.
