On the HyperScorpion and HyperScrambler 2 in Race Track Mode only, the Motor controller is programmed with a planetary gear following function.
This function will use a small positive current to “follow” the planetary gear when the e-bike is coasting.
The result is less delay between coasting and acceleration events, as the planetary gear does not need to spool up to match the wheel speed. The throttle and pedal assist performance will feel much more responsive.
If you lift the rear wheel off the ground and throttle up to a higher speed in R-mode, you will notice the function working. The bike will appear to “Idle” and continue to spin this is normal.
